Asbestos was historically used as a high-performance insulating material due to its excellent heat resistance, flame retardance, and dielectric strength. However, due to health and regulatory concerns, the use of asbestos-containing materials is strictly controlled and often phased out. At Hason Industries, we primarily support legacy industrial systems that legally require asbestos replacement parts for continuity — while actively offering safe non-asbestos alternatives.
Our expertise includes fabricating sealing plates, thermal insulation washers, arc flash barriers, and high-pressure gaskets from certified non-asbestos composites that provide equivalent heat handling and mechanical performance. These modern materials are suitable for pharmaceutical sterilisation chambers, boiler seals, high-pressure steam lines, and electrical arc chutes.
We stock non-asbestos sheet grades in thicknesses ranging from 0.8 mm to 6 mm and can machine parts up to 1,200 mm × 900 mm. CNC knife cutting, die punching, and precision routing allow us to replicate legacy asbestos gasket geometries with precise bolt-hole alignment and sealing width tolerances. Reverse engineering allows reproduction without the original drawings.
In electrical manufacturing, non-asbestos composites provide reliable dielectric insulation between conductors, reducing arc propagation. In pharmaceutical applications, they withstand sanitisation chemicals, steam, and pressure fluctuations without degrading.
Hason Industries conducts compression-set tests, dimensional checks, and sealing face inspections on all non-asbestos components. Our ISO-driven documentation ensures regulatory compliance and material traceability. By offering improved safety materials, we help industries transition away from outdated insulation standards while maintaining operational reliability.
